Role Overview
We are seeking a Content & Insights Strategy Lead to own and drive Marketplace Pulse, one of Threecolts' flagship platforms. Marketplace Pulse is a leading research and analytics platform that provides insights, data, and analysis on the e-commerce industry, particularly focusing on marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and Etsy. This is a high-ownership role that blends content creation, strategic oversight, and commercial acumen to elevate the platform's influence in the e-commerce industry.
The core of this role is content production, creating insightful and data-driven content by analyzing industry trends, key launches, and the competitive landscape. You'll engage with a wide range of sources, from major publications to podcasts and social media, drawing from these to craft content that resonates with our audience.
The ideal candidate will not only produce high-quality content but also think strategically to drive engagement, commercial success, and growth for Marketplace Pulse. A passion for staying on top of industry conversations and a natural ability to identify new opportunities will be essential. The role also involves a level of journalistic thinking, where you will leverage data, insights, and industry conversations to fuel content production, while maintaining an independent and authoritative voice.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Own and lead the Marketplace Pulse platform, ensuring its growth, influence, and commercial impact in the e-commerce space.
  • Produce at least one piece of content per week, publishing it on the website and syncing it to newsletters and social profiles.
  • Develop and execute a content strategy that blends editorial opinion, industry analysis, and thought leadership.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, launches, and competitive shifts, using these insights to inspire and drive content production.
  • Consume data, industry news, and insights daily to generate content that reflects the pulse of the e-commerce industry.
  • Engage with journalists and media outlets regularly, providing data-driven insights and expert commentary to amplify the platform's reach.
  • Create content by comparing key industry events to identify relevant trends and insights for our audience.
  • Collaborate with external contributors and agencies to ensure alignment with Marketplace Pulse’s vision, editorial standards, and business objectives.
  • Actively think about commercialization strategies, including growing the platform through online marketing, SEO, social media promotion, and engaging with journalists to get featured in relevant stories.
  • Expand the platform’s influence by exploring new opportunities for monetization and strategic enhancements.
  • Focus on growing the platform's audience through strategic outreach and leveraging industry relationships.

Requirements :

  • 8+ years of experience in content creation, editorial leadership, or data-driven roles, ideally in e-commerce, tech, or analytics-focused industries.
  • A proven track record of owning and growing platforms, products, or content-driven initiatives with measurable results.
  • Commercially savvy with the ability to connect content strategy to business objectives and growth opportunities.
  • A strong understanding of e-commerce trends and dynamics, with a passion for exploring and explaining the industry.
  • Comfortable engaging with the media and establishing yourself as an authority in the space.
  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects and external partnerships while ensuring timely delivery and quality results.
  • A forward-thinker who can balance big-picture planning with hands-on execution.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to align teams and contributors around shared goals.
  • Experience in SEO, online marketing, and social media promotion to grow audiences and engage readers.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Amazon, TikTok, and other e-commerce players, and the ability to leverage data insights to create content.
