As the Physical Security Site Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our facilities, personnel, and assets at your site. You will oversee the daily operations of the guard force, ensuring that all contracted security officers adhere to company policies, site-specific procedures, and applicable regulatory standards. This position requires strong leadership, effective communication, and a commitment to maintaining a secure environment through proactive oversight and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: Supervise the daily activities of the guard force to ensure consistent compliance with established post orders, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and all relevant safety and security regulations.
  • Liaison Role: Serve as the primary point of contact between the Physical Security Manager and the contracted security provider, facilitating clear communication and alignment on operational objectives.
  • Access Control: Create and ensure badges are issued with appropriate access levels based on job roles and security clearances.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship: Collaborate with the contracted security supervisor to mentor and develop security officers, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Disciplinary and Performance Management: Address performance issues, enforce disciplinary measures when necessary, and provide constructive feedback to the Physical Security Manager to ensure high standards of conduct and performance among security personnel.
  • Incident Response: Serve as the on-site incident commander for all physical security incidents
  • Incident Reporting and Documentation: Oversee the accurate and timely reporting of incidents, ensuring all documentation is complete, compliant with company policies, and properly escalated to the Physical Security Manager as needed.
  • Policy and Procedure Enforcement: Monitor and enforce adherence to site-specific security protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements, conducting regular audits and inspections to maintain operational excellence.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate with the contracted security provider to implement training programs that enhance officer preparedness, situational awareness, and response capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Physical Security Manager, internal and external stakeholders, and local law enforcement, to address security concerns.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance security operations, recommend process improvements, and contribute to the development of updated SOPs and security protocols.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in physical security, with at least two years in a supervisory or leadership role within a corporate or contracted security environment.
  • Skills:
  • o Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective coordination and reporting.
  • o Proficiency in incident reporting systems and security management software.
  • o Knowledge of local, state, and federal security regulations and standards.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field preferred.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to make sound decisions under pressure. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

Working Conditions

  • Schedule: Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
  • Environment: Combination of office-based work and on-site supervision, with potential exposure to varying weather conditions during site inspections.

Reporting Structure

  • The Physical Security Supervisor reports directly to the Physical Security Manager and collaborates closely with the contracted security provider’s supervisory team.
